My sweet friend Leann tagged me for the new fun meme! Here goes:
You would see:
The yard of the month sign in our front yard! Yep. I'm dorky that way. In the dining room you'd see our dining room table, our old kitchen table that we don't want to get rid of....and the new coffee table for the new living room when I change the dining room to a living room. You'd also see our video camera set up....spying on the punks.
We’d probably feed you:
Andy's homemade salsa! And some yummy guacamole to go with it. I'd have a pot of tortilla soup on the stove (YUMMO) and The Salad from Market Street Grocery. Dessert would be either Texas Sheet Cake, Strawberry cake, or Cream Cheese Bars. Diet coke, water and coffee would be the beverage!
We’d undoubtedly ask if you’d read:
Shepherding a Child's Heart. Right now we are both reading the Master Plan for Evangelism, so we might bring that up. If you are a girl, I'd give Mitford a mention (like Leann!) and A Woman After God's Own Heart by Elizabeth George. OH and Holiness by RC Sproul. Then I'd haul out my Systematic Theology book and try to spur you into a conversation about the sovereignty of God. We'd have a blast. Finally, I'd run over to my neighbors and get my Restoration Series books by Terri Blackstock back. Thrilling.
We’d want to play this music for you:
Random play list on the ol IPOD
We’d want to tell you the latest about:
Kids, dogs, punks, decorating projects. Since we've already covered theology, we'd just hang. I'd show you the colors I've picked for the trim of the outside of the house and for our master bedroom. Then I'd show you my fabrics that I've picked for my room. Then we'd just visit!
We’d probably suggest a game of:
oh dear. Don't know. We play trouble and jenga a lot with E and C. But we don't have very many grown up games.
We might show off:
What? The yard? Funny Super Bubbie? The crazy dogs? Not sure. Andrew would definitely show you his John Deere tractor that Pops scored at a garage sale. He can even drive it!
We might get on the computer and show you:
Nothing
If it was a long enough visit, we might watch:
The kids would be welcome to enjoy a movie but I cannot imagine what we could watch other than tons of kiddos and all the other stuff above. *this answer stolen from Leann!
What would a visit to your house be like?
Oh....If you read this and want to do it, then YOU'RE IT!

This morning, I scratched myself out of bed at 5:45. Early. I did my usual routine of starting the coffee, closing the girls' door, closing the TV cabinet door, turning on lamps and pouring my coffee before settling into my favorite chair for my quiet time.
After a while - quite a while actually, because I was finished with my Bible study and was nearly done with a chapter in my Nancy Leigh DeMoss re-read, when I found a little, but nearly big, little girl standing beside my chair with a sleepy face. Holding her Bible with a butterfly on the front.
She whispered,"Can I get up yet?"
And then she squeezed in beside me and opened her Bible to the book of John and started to read.
The rest of this day has been spent celebrating a birthday at the skating rink, visiting with friends as the kids blurred past us, "skating" a determined little Super Bubbie around in Spider-man skates, and then eating McDonald's and yummy cupcakes from the party.
We'll finish up some lessons this afternoon - and maybe even a nap later.
.....and that is what is making me happy today!

It's Friday!
dreaming of moving to the country
kids on the mend (hopefully!)- though we won't mention how I feel
two wild and crazy well behaved pups
going for walks and seeing things poke out of the ground
my big coffee mug, early in the morning
"It's just so hard to put a book down. I hate to do it!" Emma, age 7 ((as she is finishing a book by Elizabeth Prentiss called Little Threads. It's a grown-up book, written in the 1800's! My child is reading it!))
this quote by Elizabeth Elliot this morning from my devotional book:
' "Leave him (or her) to me this afternoon," is what His word is. "There is nothing else that I am asking of you this afternoon but that. Leave him (or her) to Me. You cannot fathom all that is taking place. You don't need to. I am at work - in you, in him. Leave him to Me. Someday it will be clear - trust Me!" '
Humble yourselves then under God's mighty hand, and he will lift you up in due time. Cast all your cares on him, for you (and the other) are his charge. 1 Peter 5:6-7

I'm not fooling myself. It's just fact that if you just stop blogging for over a month, then when you finally do decide to fire up the ol' blog....nobody will see it. That's cause I've been deleted from your bloglines, favorites and your hearts and brains.
I miss that girl that used to have lots to say on her blog. You know, the one who made her friends laugh and leave their own funny comments here and there.
Where'd she go?
Maybe she packed up and went on vacation like my friend Susan. Or perhaps she just got stuck in the slow line at the Walmarts. Or Albertsons. Or maybe she is hiding.
Hiding? Hiding behind what? Just maybe she is hiding behind what you think she is...
Y'all. It's time to unpack the load. It's getting pretty heavy.
And since we last visited, the Doodles turned SEVEN.
We've learned to roller blade AND had a great time at the birthday party. Parties are not something that we do every year, but we sprang for it this year. Our guests painted the CUTEST pumpkins, ate yummy pizza, and had a great time in our backyard - despite the rain!
What else? I think that might be enough for today....unless you want to see some Super Bubbie smiles
And look at him all sleepy and snuggly

You think I have crawled under the covers and STAYED there, I have decided to share a few tidbits about this week.
A tile on the floor of our shower busted. The shower is now "on a break" until we can make a final decision on the new look. (note: a new look in the bathroom isn't as fun as a new look in the current dining room waiting to be transformed into a living area)
The new kitchen table that was supposed to be red, you remember that one? It sat in the garage in all it's pink glory with the gashes in the front? After spending a brief time in the house as a green table, it's settled back in the garage sporting yet another new look. Black. With a hint of green. Tomorrow it should be finished. Maybe. Unless I change my mind. I'm good at that.
Andrew has the stomach bug that Caroline had last week that I had the week before that Emma had the week before me. In case you are counting that is FOUR weeks of ickys.
And not to be outdone by the master bath, the girl's bath has spring a leak. IN THE TILE. (see an obnoxious pattern?) and THEIR bathroom must be redone. Except theirs is even more exciting! The leak really out did itself and carried over through the wall to the playroom carpet! New tile! New sheet rock! Right behind our new piano! Fun times, people. We've ripped up the carpet in nearly half our playroom. Y'all. Like I said, we are SO giddy about our bathrooms right now.
So now we are down to one functional shower, but really....who wants to be the one to use it and spring a leak in that bathroom?
Last night the girls, mom and I went out to dinner and then to see The Lion King at Fair Park. It was a great show! I had seen it way back when I was pregnant with them in my youthful, more energetic days. (ha)
Anyway. That's all I got.

Friday Felicities!
from Nattie
Nattie was one of my very, very first blog friends when I started this crazy blog-life five years ago. Nearly three weeks ago she answered the call of her Savior and is now sitting at his feet. She started "Friday Felicities" to celebrate the things that make us happy.
In her sweet memory.....here is what is making me happy today!
plans! oh the plans I am making for some changes around here!
delivering snacks to some high school kids at our new church who have given up their entire month of June to study the Bible together.
going nearly the whole week without putting on make-up.
summer! whoot!
StoryNory podcast
puttering in the yard
pushing Super Bubbie on his new ride
the tooth that is hanging out of Emma's mouth
laughing cow spreadable cheese wedges with wheat thins
finding time for quiet-ness
after all the rain in my hometown and hearing stories of loss...a dry home.
my IPOD - what else is new?
trying my very hardest to read CS Lewis spiritual autobiography
planning meals for next week
Night at the Museum
And that is what is making me happy today!

Two little girls who packed backpacks full of books to play school
One little boy who also packed HIS backpack and went to "Sissie 'Cool" (his backpack is the actual "Backpack" from Dora - he felt SO IMPORTANT)
The fort in my bedroom
The hailstorm that waited until Andy got home (baseballs in our yard! huge hail!)
The rainbow that appeared after. What a great teachable moment for my little that is terrified of storms
A rousing game of Johnson Ball in the playroom after the storm had passed
Remembering the leftover taco meat in the fridge from night before last. NO cooking! Yay!
Avacados
Funny phone calls and even funnier emails
All the things that Super Bubbie says. I need to post a blog of that silly boys words.
Spending part of yesterday in the Doodles kindergarten class. I must blog about that, too. Those are some funny, funny kiddos.
OH, and a kindergarten teacher who brings the turtle to school that she caught in her yard. My kids talked about it. And talked about it. "The turtles tongue was an INCH long, Mommy! He stuck it out when I blew in his face!" Good times.
A whole day. A whole day in which to play, to laugh, to read, and to be with my babies!
And that is what made me happy today!
