It's THURSDAY!

a few things that I am thankful for this week...

1. Our new airconditioner ~ 105 is the high today!

2. My neighbor a few doors down who calls everyday at 3:30 and invites us to swim in her pool!  And she has no kids, yet loves to see mine in her pool! 

3. Andrew's John Deere truck that he loads up with our swim gear and drives to Tina's.  Too funny!

4. Breakfast at IHOP

5. We still have two and half weeks left before we hit the books!

6. Uniforms purchased, books in the shelf and finally finding the right pair of all white tennis shoes for two second graders!

7. A girl who is still little enough to pick out a pink skirt, a pink tee shirt, pink knee socks, pink sparkly shoes and be SO HAPPY about her outfit!

8. Another little girl who has had her nose in a book since 7:30 this morning!

9. Being all ready for the homeschool part of our school year!  Two days at school, three days at home.

10. Being able to prepare and share yummy food for a neighbor who is in the fight of her life....for her life.

Thanksgiving?

Y'all.  It SNOWED.  Big, HUGE, fluffy, wonderful flakes!  We were outside chatting with some neighbors when all of a sudden....POOFY SNOW! SO! EXCITING!  ((please excuse my beauty in the above pic.  I know it's distracting.  I just can't help myself.  But there I am.  If you ever wonder what I look like at any given moment....just click here and gaze.  I wear my cammo pants at every available opportunity.))

Anyhoo!  Happy Thanksgiving!  I hope your day was as great as ours ~ and we're not done yet!  Tomorrow the girls, Gigi and I are having a bake-a-thon in our matching aprons and our Thanksgiving Feast on Saturday.

Is It Thursday Already?!

How can this summer be very nearly almost all the way over?  It's still raining outside people!  We're not done with summer yet.  It hasn't even started!  Where is 100 plus degrees? Where is all the talk about the burn ban? Water restriction? DROUGHT?

And for all that....(except for the ending of the summer part...) I am very thankful for this  - the weirdest summer I've ever known in all my thirty, um, thirty-six years.

What else am I thankful for today?

• The vacation we just had to Big Cedar Resort!  A wonderful treat from Gigi and Pops.  It's a great place.  We swam, fished, rode horses (ouch) and ATE OUT at every meal. The chef at the resort was so, so, SO kind and came to check on us and assure us that every bite of kid food was super-duper nut free for my kiddos.  Next time we will rent a cabin at the resort and stay longer. 
• My sweet friend who called me the other day right before we left for vacation.  Turns out they left for vacation the day we got home from ours.  She was calling to tell me that their pool was just waiting for us to splish and splash in while they were gone!  And believe me.  We have splished and splashed!  With more splashing planned for tomorrow.
• That same friend who has introduced me to my "New Best Friend Sandra"  which is what I call her everytime we hang up the phone.  Sandra is helping me put together some wonderful changes for the nest here in Bright Sunshiny Day Land.
• Little girls who got new shoes today!  With laces! 
• Super Bubbie! Do y'all remember way back in the day when I swore I could never be a boy mom?  I was wrong.  One time in our hotel room he snatched up the phone and said, "HELLO!  This is Bubbie!"  And then he promptly hung up and said, "I call China!"
• Getting all my phone numbers of my VIP's in my Palm!  Whoot!  Now not only can I do mass mailings via outlook, I can CALL PEOPLE!  EVEN WHEN I AM NOT HOME! 

I think that about covers it for today.  There is so much to be thankful for, isn't there?  Sit a sec and count your blessings.  It's good for you.  And, if you happen to be a point counter along with me and The WW, blessings are good for zero points.

Oh.  One more thankful....

It's Thursday! 

What am I thankful for today? 

Chris Rice, Peace Like a River album.  This is a MUST have.  It's a wonderful album of hymns...you know....hymns.  The songs that have great theology - but no one sings anymore.  We do sing them at our new church.  LOVE. THAT.

School books, uniforms, backpacks ordered, looked over, washed and in place.  And we still have five weeks of summer left.

Planning the most *wonderful* in the whole world seventh (!!!) birthday for my two girls in October.

(pssst.  We going to Disneyland!  Or is it World?  I never can remember)

But don't tell Super Bubbie.

My faithful friend who encouraged  drug me to the dreaded WW this week.  That's Weight Watchers for you people who don't call it The WW.  Not only did she go, she has called, emailed, and giggled with me.  And she promised not to leave her phone on vibrate from now own.  While we stood in The Line, I ran into another friend.....AND our leader was an old friend from Bible Study years ago.  I signed up for the monthly pass.  Unlimted visits, tools and tears.  All mine until I finish the race.

I hate to say it.  But I had a great time.  At The WW.

My ornary rib is doing better about staying, you know, in my rib cage. Less pain.

All the windows in our home are clean and sparkly.  And it only took two days. 

This series of Nancy Leigh DeMoss on the book of Ruth.  I am a week behind her radio broadcast, but if you can - run and listen.  Reviveourhearts.com.  This is a must hear.

Finally....I am thankful for sunshine.  This has been such a rainy summer, we enjoyed our backyard this morning.   The baby is sleeping, the girls are drawing....and I am closing up the laptop.

Two sweet kindergartener's whose last full day of kinder is TODAY!  Where did this year go?!

My Super Bubbie who sounds eerily like Mator from Cars when he says,  "NOT TO!"

The way he declares most everything out of his sippy cup as "Tasty!"

Did I mention the sunshine?
